Whoa! It has been a very, very long time since I’ve posted anything! I’m just putting this up to link to the latest sketch challenge at Operation Write Home. As you can tell, this one one was super duper quick. Cardstock and paper are Stampin’ Up! The sentiment is from the Avery Elle set Many Thanks. I cut the words apart to fit in the circle. Thanks for stopping by!
Operation Write Home has given us another great sketch today. I made two cards, hoping for masculine and feminine. I am once again taking pictures with my iPhone. The cord for my card reader has mysteriously disappeared, so the DSLR is on the shelf until the cord can be located. I have a feeling I will find it in one of the boys’ rooms, as it seems to be common for the little thieves to steal from me when they […]
I very rarely (and I mean VERY rarely) ever use just a white card base as my background layer. I’m so afraid of the card looking too plain. I saw a sketch on the Freshly Made Sketches site and knew I had to try to step out of my comfort zone. The sketch: My card: To be honest, and to explain why my banners/flags do not match the sketch, I remembered seeing the sketch but didn’t go back to it […]
So, it has been a while since I posted. It has truly been that long since I’ve made a card. There is WAY too much going on in my life right now to allow for much crafty time. However, today I was able to add a few cards to my OWH box. That poor box has been waiting for a very long time to be mailed, and it is the smallest box. Ha! On to the card, based on OWH […]
Welcome to my stop on the Operation Home World Card Making Day blog hop! I used Sketch #178 for my card. Don’t you just love all the layers? “Thank you” truly does not begin to say it all. I am incredibly thankful for the men and women that sacrifice so much for us. Supplies used are Stampin’ Up: Soft Suede cardstock and designer paper, Cherry Cobbler and Basic Black cardstock, Cherry Cobbler Candy Dots, Sentiment from the Lots of Thanks […]
Our challenge with Cards In Envy today is to create a card with layers. I have two cards to share with you. I really like this color combination. I used Stampin’ Up! Soft Suede (Core’dinations cardstock, ink for the sentiment and marker for the faux stitching), Cherry Cobbler and Baja Breeze along with Very Vanilla for the sentiment. The woodgrain embossing folder works great with the Core’dinations cardstock and a wee bit of sanding. I used a chevron embossing folder […]
New sketches are posted on the Operation Write Home Stars and Stamps Blog every Sunday. I rarely get a chance to play along on the actual day they are posted, but I’m hanging out at home with a sick kiddo today and had a few minutes in the craft room while he was napping. The sketch: This super simple card is what you get when you only have a few minutes! I didn’t really have anything that would look right […]
Operation Write Home posts new sketches every Sunday and today’s sketch is #156. One of the things I love about them is the measurements included. No guessing to be done! I tried, unsuccessfully, to clear emboss the card base. We can talk about that failure later, once I have a new Versamark pad and I’ve gotten over my frustration of today. Whew! I resorted to stamping the So Saffron cardstock with So Saffron ink and got the look (at first glance) […]
